Injury Report

So, people get hurt all the time. It happens. It especially happens with you are tiny, super mobile, into everything, and have parents who are a bit out of it. (That's all of us, right?...Right?) Last Thursday, I sat there and watched Margot approach the humidifier. I watched her as I considered for a moment the safety of the cord that was coiled around the thing that bleeds hot steam. Seriously, what is wrong with my brain? As the one who placed the burning hot steam machine on the floor in the first place, Adam says it is partially his fault too. Which is very generous of him.

In any case. Lil Go Go's got a pretty rough burn. And so the seal has been broken -- she has now known pain, like serious, for realsies pain. Watching her go through it doesn't really make me wince, or feel scared or, honestly, even super guilty. What it makes me feel is sad. Like, I look at her hand and I get instantly depressed. I think it must be empathy on overdrive.

On the upside, she seems to have a Slayer-like capacity for healing. It's not all better, of course, but soon enough she'll be back in fighting form. Here she is watching the Saints with her dad. It's a little tough to spot in this cell phone pic, but if you squint you can see the bandage she wears during the day. (We heard that dog hair was no good on open wounds.) We call her Flipper.

And here she is playing with her toys. I just like her pants in this one.

Oh no, poor Go Go! Try to go easy on yourselves ... accidents happen! Good thing Margot is a tough cookie!
